Saughton Skatepark WINS Award!

Edinburgh Skatepark Project (ESP) regarding Saughton Skatepark has received a Nancy Ovens Trust Award for Play in autumn 2010, along with a bronze plaque.

The Nancy Ovens Trust was set up in honour of Nancy Ovens MBE, who established the National Centre for Play under the auspices of Edinburgh 's Moray House, where she was formerly a lecturer.

It has even been hailed as the best skatepark in Scotland, if not the whole of the UK, by leading figures in the skateboarding community.

Sam Paterson of the Edinburgh Skatepark Project said: "We are delighted to receive this award recognising the huge positive impact that the skatepark has made in the community. The numbers of park users, young and old has been beyond expectations and it's great to see such a diverse group of people coming together, getting some exercise and enjoying themselves."
